Join us for a rewarding volunteering experience during the summer holidays at our kindergarten in Brufut, Ghana Town, The Gambia. The summer camps cater to children from the local villages, including those attending our kindergarten year-round and those who have never had the chance to enroll in school.

Conditions
Enthusiasm for working with children, pedagogy experience is a bonus, satisfactory knowledge of English, independence, resourcefulness, and patience. Also, a commitment to collecting donations (minimum 250.00 euros).
Program Goal
- Create a pleasant and educational environment for children from the surrounding villages.
- Provide a daily snack for participating children.
Purpose of donations
Collected donations will be utilized for:
- Organizing a daily lunch for children at the summer camp.
- Purchasing materials for creative workshops.
- Providing awards to local teachers for their cooperation.
- Covering maintenance and running costs in the kindergarten (electricity, water, repairs, cleaning, maintenance, painting, renovation of the walls).
- Supporting other ongoing association projects or intervention assistance if necessary.
Duties of a volunteer
The first day involves an introduction to the school and a warm welcome from the students through songs and dance. Morning and afternoon sessions, including a daily meal and outdoor play, form the core routine.

Preparation
Prepare and lead two workshops per day, one for the morning and one for the afternoon session. Collaboration with local teachers is encouraged. Focus on creativity, dancing, singing nursery rhymes, storytelling, and other engaging activities.
Materials needed
While the school provides some supplies, it’s advisable to check with us for specific items required for creative workshops. Essential materials include ordinary pencils, crayons, sharpeners, scissors, erasers, glue, water-based crayons, coloured paper, games, instruments, books in English, and educational posters.
Free time
Volunteers enjoy afternoons and weekends exploring the countryside or relaxing on the beach. We assist in organizing workshops, guided tours, and various activities.
